I would like to begin by extending a warm welcome back to all students and dedicated staff. I am confident that this new school year will be filled with an abundance of hard work, laughter and most of all success. On behalf of everyone here at Coláiste na Maighdine, I would like to congratulate the Leaving Certificate class of 2019 on their fantastic results. Thank you for passing the lantern onto the current 6th Years, class of 2020. We wish you all the very best of luck and success in the future.
To all of our First Years, I hope that you have a smooth and successful transition as you settle into Colaiste na Maighdine. I desire that each of you embrace the changes and grasp onto each opportunity that comes your way throughout these six years. May you follow in the footsteps of our 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Years who continue to thrive in their school life.
To my fellow sixth years. I am grateful to have grown alongside a wonderful group of girls who have now become confident young women. Throughout these 6 Years I have learned that success is the result of hard work, learning from failure, loyalty, and persistence. Make goals and targets for the coming year and I am sure that we shall all succeed.
Lastly as we begin a new academic year I would like to ask something of you all. I would like for our school to continue having a kind and accepting atmosphere. We are lucky to be apart of a school built over a foundation of love. Nano Nagle used her lantern to illuminate the darkest streets. Like Nano, we are also gifted with a light. You are one of the many lights of this world.
Be the light that helps others see; it is what gives life its deepest significance.
